Creatures of The Orchestra - Pre Major Project Year 3 ~ December 2023

This is the first project of my final year on my illustration course. intended to set us up and allow us an opportunity to test some ideas ready for out final project of out final year, this project was self directed. I decided to create a series of creatures inspired by the four majour sections of and orchestra; Strings, Brass, Precussion and Woodwind and finalise these creature designs in a print form to accentuate and give context to the creatures.

My main focus was the creatures themselves, allowing myself to iterate, develop and push into different mediums to test ideas to make sure I portrayed the characteristics of the instruments inspiring the designs.

On top of this was teh context and setting that these creatures reside it as it effects and accentuates the movement and spirits of these creatures further pushing the ideas that they were built from.

BCP Council Mural Project - Creekmoore Youth Centre ~ May 2023

This was a mural project i picked up ecternal to university that was funded by the BCP for Creekmoore Youth Centre that started in 2021 and was put up in 2023.

Using 8 7ft by 4ft boards that were painted separately to span round a corner in the main building. Due to mearurment errors the placement had to change to the main games hall and was put up overlooking the ball games area.

The visuals had to be fitting for a youth centre setting. Multiple designs were worked through with the kids input into which designs they liked and once the final design was finalised, it was painted in multiple areas including garages and bin rooms as I was moving around for University and had to find areas big enough to store, lay out and paint the boards.

Year 2 First Project - Narrative ~ July 2023

The first project of year 2 of my illustration course. This was to create a truly wordless narrative that I wanted to focus on the use of concept art and world creation. I also wanted to limit myself to two hues using different tones to display emotion and intent.

Whilst not one of my top projects, it gave me an opportunity to discover and test methods of creating and concepting different landscapes that I still use to this day to generate interesting and inspired visuals

Year 2 Project: Interpretation of text - "Biosphere 2" ~ December 2022
A project made during the start of my second year of my illustration course, also my first introduction into realistic rendering as well well as full concept artwork. This project provided me an opportunity to fully dive into my wants from an artistic career and to understand how proper rendering can be done through a digital medium.

The focus was on texts given out to each student, one being “biosphere 2”. We were then expected to create work based on the text hence the focus on natural aspects combined with the robotic within the concepts.
